Miami HEAT 2013 Ring Ceremony
Court Projection Video - Part 2
Quince Imaging partnered with the back-to-back defending NBA Champion Miami HEAT to open the 2013-14 season on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 when the HEAT hosted their Eastern Conference rivals, the Chicago Bulls.
The Quince Imaging Q3D Video Mapping System was used to create a 3D video presentation on existing surfaces without requiring special glasses.
As a company of engineers and display designers we understand the science of turning surfaces like the basketball floor in the American Airlines Arena into surreal landscapes.
The process begins by measuring the basketball court inch by inch and the graphics elements associated with it and building a pixel wire frame that content can be shaped to.
Then hundreds of hours of pre-visualization is conducted to build specialized content that will play to the unique elements of the court plus render time to ingest the content perfectly.
The core of this system is the use of powerful media servers that drive all video playback and show control. The servers are designed to interface directly with projection and lighting, audio, special effects, as well as the LED Ribbon.
In addition to modifying existing content (sizzle reels, player introductions, etc.) for playback on the court, the Quince Imaging team worked closely with the Miami HEAT to conceptualize, storyboard, create, and prepare fully customized 3-D content.
